NSS "Bawal" picnic party: Unforgetable memory

We,NSS,work hard throughout the year and refreshment is a medicine that is required to energize the fatigue muscles and brain neurones. NSS Kolkata decided to go for a refreshment and picnic party was finally decided at Nirala Resort in Deulti(under district East Medinipur). Deulti is a historical place and centre of attaction for house of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay(novelist and famous for writting 'Devdas').

House of Sarat Chandra
It was 8th December(saturday) and we started our journey from Cognizant TCPX facility with two buses carrying NSS members. We reached the spot at around 11AM. After minutes of relaxation, few of us started having -OH products Royal Challenge Whisky and Smrinoff Vodka without satisfying the stomach with breakfast.

Seeing them, most of other male counterparts also joined the group. As energy level started raising, Mrinal Sir, as usual, asked us to dance. We danced, we shook legs, we moved hips as never before, we jumped, we screamed, we did " Latka and Jhatka" and we did "Bawal".After an hour of non stop adrenalized dance,we went to swimming pool. We continued bawal there too. Some were pushed, some jumped, some kicked, some dived, some broke nose, some slipped and some vomitted but we didn't noticed and enjoyed colorful water in swimming pool. WoW!!!

Bawal dance with Mrinal sir
After an hour of swimming, we all headed for lunch. Most of male counterparts didn't ate the lunch as we were not in normal conditions to move our hands and also there were no space in our stomach to add extra. Few ate but poor quality of food was aired later. After lunch, I didn't remember anything for atleast one hour as I took rest to cool down myself.

We all gathered at around 6PM after lunch and post lunch bawal and left the beautiful place. Really it was an awesome and bawal picnic party. For me it was best official picnic till date in my professional career.

It was due to energetic and vivaciuos NSS senior members like Mrinal Sir,Sushanta Da and Suman da, NSS picnic party 2012 was awesome and an unforgetable. We all enjoyed a lot and finally returned to our places safely.

Finally looking forward for NSS picnic party 2013..and..countdown begins...

21st Jan = 23rd Nov

Mail came to my official inbox, I was wished by my office colleagues. Reason?? Its 23rd Nov and my "documented birthday". I surprised by all those greetings but its true that my documented aka official birthday is 23rd November. Its way years old history when I joined school and my date of birth was registered as 23rd November  and from then 23rd Nov is registered in all official docs as my birth date.

I always remember this year's documented birthday as it was my first official birthday. Not only my office colleagues Pintu Da,Atanu,Tuhin,Debabrata and Kaushik were there with my to celebrate the B day but CITRIX employees also joined @ Swrils.

Actually my real birthday is 21st January and I am looking forward to celebrate the day with friends in 2013.
So can I say 21st Jan = 23rd Nov?

Chennai-My first visit to South India

Never think of visiting southern part of India but after joining Cognizant got a chance to go to Chennai ,the capital of Tamil Nadu, on 01072012.for IT training on Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure.

It was Sunday of 1st July when office cab took me upto Dum Dum domestic airport. We had flight from Kolkata to Chennai which was departed @ 1815PM. Me and my another colleague Mr. Mithun Debnath reached in Chennai @ 2030PM. Thanks to Indigo Airlines that we reached before arrival time. Our respective cab drivers received us @ Kamraj Domestic Airport. We faced problem in communication with cab drivers as they were unable to speak in Hindi and I didn't expect better English from them.Although we managed to make them understand about our destination i.e. Shem Park guest house at Chemmenchery in Chennai.

We reached guest house after almost 1 hour journey in cab. Guest house was full furnished and living room was Air Conditioned.I slept early as I didn't want to reach late in our first day.We reached at right time but training started late @ 1130AM due to PC problem. Trainer named Sundar was very energetic and passionate about giving training.

In five days, I got a chance to visit World's 2nd longest beach i.e. Marina beach. After finishing the class, we took local bus and met Mithun's CTS friend. We three took another bus and reached Marina beach after long journey of 90 minutes. I didn't enjoyed as we reached the beach at nite.Next day we tried to visit T Nagar also but due to communication problem we cancelled the plan.On last day, office cab dropped us @ Kamraj Airport and by Indigo flight, we returned back to Kolkata on Friday 6th July.

People of Chennai are simple in outlook and girls and women wear traditional and simple clothes. Youths are not flowing with latest fashion trends.I liked the South Indian foods.Employees prefer office buses as mode of transportation and thereby there is less traffic in the OMR road and IT high way.

GOPHER:secret revealed

We technical people come across a sweet and short word that we use frequently either troubleshooting network connectivity or just adding to email asking someone to reply.

Guess what?? Its "PING". Ask techie the fullform of PING and he/she replies-"Packet INternet Gopher". We all know the meaning of words Packet and Internet but what is Gopher? Hmm..may be few knows its meaning and history behind it. Lemme share the interesting fact and meaning behind the word Gopher. Here we go:

Gopher system(or protocol) is Application layer protocol for searching, retrieving and displaying docs over the Internet. It was released on 1991 by McCahill,Torey and Linder of University of Minnesota. It is named after school's mascot and also as in an assistant who's sent to "GO FOR" things.

Last day at Energetic FRPL

I left my last company i.e. Energetic Financial Research Pvt. Ltd. on 12th May 2012(saturday) and I've joined new corporate world for new challenges with new team members and seniors.
At Pranic Healing Camp
With Team members
Those were unforgettable days with Dynamic Commodities Pvt. Ltd. and with Energetic Financial Research Pvt. Ltd.  where I met some good friends, brilliant minds and some typical corporate KIDAs. It was 20th July 2010 when I joined Dynamic Commodities Pvt. Ltd. as System Executive and I exited with same designation. Learnt new technical stuffs from Windows OS to Linux within short peiod of 2 years.

With Shiv Khera
I met good friend like Amit Kumar, Saikat Bhattacharya, Praveen Arya(who later joined Accenture), Shrovan Bhangar(who also joined C2H Accenture),Indrajit Da,Vikash Jaiswal,Vikash Kandoi,Ritesh,Sumit and talented people like Joydip Das. Apart from my good friends, I always remembers  senior people like Saibal Kanjilal(HOD),Arijit Chanda(AM),Swarnendu Deb,Seshadri S Das,Pradip Ghosh(Podu Da),Abhishek Banerjee(Notu Da),Mrinmoy Mondol("Bhai"),Debu Da,Irshad Bhai,Himadri(from client support), All HR team including Maya and Pinku,All finance team(specially Ashish ji,Rakesh and Manoj),Web development team,Pranic healing team and finally all G4S people from security to service.

During X-Mas time
I gathered loads of knowledge which helped me to developed personally and professionally. Most interesting part during my time at Dynamic and Energetic is that I,for the first time, came to know about Pranic healing. Company provides free of cost training for its employees to learn Pranic healing and its healing techniques. I got two free courses to learn i.e. Basic and Advance.Within few mothns of joining, I got opportunity to attend the well known public speaker Mr. Shiv Khera's 3 days training called 'Blue print of success' at ITC Sonar Bangla in Kolkata.Apart from learning and trainings, I enjoyed participating in Antakshari,in Pranic healing camps.

At new floor, we enjoyed a lot during Christmas. We all celebrated every event whether it is Christmas or Holi or Durga Puja.
During Picnic Party
I never forget the picnic on Jan 2011 with directors(Shridharji and Shekharji) of the company  and that cricket match where our team was winner. Although Shekharji was not with us who died on Jan 2012, his good works, his down to earth character inspire everyone to be like him.

Whereever I go, I always carry sweet memories of Dynamic Group of Companies. May company flourish and grow more and more. Wish you all success and peaceful lives ahead.
My farewell

IPL 2012: take your breath away

Indian Premier League(IPL) Cricket tournament is pack of thriller, excitement and unexpected matches which is most entertainer than any other T20 tournaments. This year's IPL version is just amazing than ever. You find most of the match a "Paisa Vasool" and crowd love this kind of match rather than one sided match.

Just before start writting this post, Chennai Super King(CSK) lead by "Helicopter Baba" I mean MS Dhoni won match against Gauti's (Gautam Gambhir) team Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) in "one ball match".CSK required 5 runs to win in just 1 ball and Bravo(of West Indies) hit hard the ball and sent it over the rope for SIX. What a climax?? KKR fans just dejected to see their team lost another match after one sided win by Mumbai Indians few days back.

How can we forget the inning of Roayl Challengers Bangalore's AB deVilllers(of South Africa) batting performance against Deccan Chargers when he smashed every ball of World's one of the fastest bowler Dale Steyn(of South Africa) for SIXES and FOURS to win match for his team. Same day, Mumbai India's Dwyane Smith(of West Indies) hit 6,6 and 4 in last three balls to register a win for his team.

Every Kolkata people who witnessed Pune Warrior's Steve Smith's(of Australia) boundary saver stunning dive never forget best ever fielding in the history of IPL.There are many stunning match winning innings, bit hitting and eye catching fielding in this IPL edition and above are my best till today. I think by end of this IPL season we will see more eye catching and mind blowing performance from cricketers.

I personally fill that IPL is not about Orange Cap or Purple Cap, its all about those batting innings or bowling performance or fielding performances that  impress everyone in the stadium or at home sitting in front of TV/Computer.

Really this edition of IPL will take your breath away.

My first ever self made CBT

After huge work pressure at office, no one wants to again sit with computer. But today I took few minutes to make my first ever CBT(Computer Based Training) video using Camtasia Studio installed in my PC.

Actually learning technology and sharing it with other make me happy so thought of making CBT videos. There are many topics to start with but I finally chose to create CBT on 'Microsoft loopback adapter' with no good reason ;)

Personally I feel that this video is not upto professional level but will work on it and improve soon so that I can share more interesting and attractive CBTs to all.

Thanks for reading this post. Below is di video..

Are we taking care of our mother?

Are we taking care of our Mother? Its time to ask question to ourselves. Billions of years gone, have we ever ask that how much we love and care our mother? Mother who gave foods, water, clothes and shelter to survive and still providing all possible support to us so that we can feel warmth of the Sun every morning.

How much we love mother Earth? We have had created all possible comfortable items for our greedy needs.Every second, we bleed the Earth, we rape her feelings every time. We are so much greedy and selfish species that we learn only to take.We killed animals, cut down trees just for our selfish needs. There are countless murderers called humans living in the Earth who killed animals and trees and never realized that they are our families and due to them ecosystem is balanced and we are safe.

We called ourselves educated people but most of us have spent 15-16years to learn how to misutilize papers just to get single piece of paper(we called it education certificate). Lets say we've misutilized papers but in return have we given any thing to our mother.Have we calculate how indirectly we involve in mass destruction of trees in those 15-16 years?

Don't think of ocean water as backup after daily misuse of water. We think that gold, silver as precious items in our lives and forget about water. Do we want to see our deserted faces drinking drain water with full of bacteria? So we have to understand the importance of water.

Its like explaining environmental science to school going children but its true that in our competitive lives, we forget the importance of water, importance of environment. We invented many ways of creating energy and reached upto most dangerous Nuclear source of energy. I think most of us forgot last year nuclear hazard in Japan. The Earth is watching our activities. We make the Earth just a 'playground' to play with her feelings. She felt selfish feelings of human in past and still feeling same but intensity is more in present.

Natural process is not reversible and artificiality never last long.Natural process can't replaced by artificial process. If we enter into time machine and look back into our ancestors, they lived happy lives without cars, buildings, cellphones, laptops, motorcycle, aeroplane etc. Today we have all necessary and some unnecessary items with us but still we search for peace. Isn't shame for us? Our complex greedy lives pushing us to dead end but still we haven't recognize it. We believe in artificiality and try to show that we are happy with it.

We spent minimum of 8 hours in office but have we spent single minute for the Earth? Have we ever apologize for bleeding her every day and for punishing her every seconds? Human race is searching for better life but ultimately making life more miserable. We only think of short period of happiness, creating dark place for our future generations to live.

Lets try to understand the life of the Earth. She can't bear so much burdens of human race so long. We,humans, have utilized the resources found in the Earth in maximum amount but in return we show our empty hands to the Earth. Is this good practice? In our daily lives, we believe and practice 'give and take' rule then why don't we apply the same between the Earth and us. So its time to pay back and time to remove scar from the Earth that we made in past and still making in present.

Now question is how to payback? We are educated enough to understand the situation but we don't try to understand it. Its request to all that if we can't payback then don't hurt more.Lets revive life of the Earth by saving trees, planting trees and caring them, saving water, saving energy, stopping unnecessary wastage of energy, proper management of e-waste,stop killing animals unnecessarily and lot more. Little efforts from all people can make huge difference. Lets save the dying Earth before its too late.

I've found two short videos about the Earth in the youtube.com.Please play them once and try to realize the importance of mother Earth. Respect and care the Earth and lets give our time for building better place to live.

I personally like lines from song called "Heal the World" of Michael Jackson -"......Heal the World, make it better place..for you and for me and the entire human race...." .

Thanks for reading this post on importance of the Earth. If you find it worth reading then please comment.

Ubuntu simply rocks

Yes I know this is not technical blog, but I can't control my feelings for Ubuntu when I tried its latest version 11.10. WoW!! its really cool and has extensive desktop features that I have never seen in any Linux OS.

I installed in my Oracle Virutal Box and when installation completed, my eyes were just staring on new desktop.

Hats off to all graphics programmers and kernel developers for building such cool stuff. Those who haven't try this latest version, lets Ubuntu do its SAMBA (download link: http://www.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu/download)

Visit to Indian Museum

Sunday 15th Jan 2012, with friends Abdul and Aftab I visited Indian Museum located at Park Street in Kolkata. This was my third visit and this time also I didn't visited all galleries because we were tired. To visit all galleries it may take more than 2 hours.

We started from Archaeology gallery and tired after visiting Art gallery. While there are lots of specimens which are very rare, but maintenance is rather poor. Whole building is covered up with dust and colored with "Pan Pichkari" .

Out of all galleries, gallery related to History is clean. I personally like History gallery specially stone sculptures and coins of Ancient India.
Founded by Dr. Nathaniel Wallich and established on 1814, Indian Museum was previously located at Asiatic society(1,Park Street) which was later moved to 27, Jawaharlal Nehru Rd,Park Street.

Those who haven't visited the place, a visit is will be life experience.
